Bryony

This beautiful young lady is Bryony, she's just a baby at about a year old and came into Leeds Cat Rescue care when she was reported to us by the staff at a builders merchants. Bryony was living in the bushes and was bring up a brood of 4 kittens. Bryony was obviously a domestic cat and was easily picked up and put in her basket but her 6 week old kittens need trapping over the next few days.

Bryony had a nasty traumatic tail injury when she came into us and only had a 4 inch stump left but after a week of daily vets trips to change bandages under sedation and cleaning up the wound it was evident that the healing process would take many painful months and most likely would require multiple skin graft operations so we decided to have the last of her tail removed. This has proved to be the right decision as just 10 days after the operation her stitches were removed and she was signed off by the vets.

Bryony unfortunately tested positive for FIV, a virus which means her immune system is not as strong as it could be. FIV is a very misunderstood virus which potentially will put people off adopting her which it most certainly shouldn't. Many long term studies have now been completed that show FIV cats to have no shorter life expectancy than non FIV cats. FIV cats can have normal lives with full outdoor access and can life happily along side non FIV cats although Bryony is best suited as a single cat purely because she likes to be the centre of attention.

Bryony herself is possibly the sweetest neutered young cat you could hope to adopt. She adores people, loves knees and just likes to be in the company of her humans. Through all that Bryony has endured since she came into our care and all her painful treatments she has not once raised a paw.

Bryony would suit any loving and secure home where she can get lots of attention and play time. She is a very straight forward young cat who would be a great first cat or just as risky fantastic company for an young or older person. Bryony only restriction is she needs to be an only cat.
